1st Egham (United Church of Egham) Scout Group
The United Church of Egham is the sponsor of 1st Egham Scout Group and were pivotal in supporting and facilitating the resurrection of the Group in 2011 after its closure many years before.
1st Egham (United Church of Egham) Scout Group offer Scouting activities for young boys and girls from the age of 6 years and upwards, through working on activity badges, towards staged goals and by helping with community and Runnymede district events.
The 1st Egham (United Church of Egham) Scout Group comprises our Beaver Scout colony, for children aged 6-8 years of age, who then progress on to our Cub Scout pack, until they reach 10 years of age, after which they join the Scout troop. We actively encourage outdoor activities and look to give our Scouts a wide range of skills to take into adult life: former Scouts (albeit not from Egham!) include Barack Obama, Richard Branson and David Beckham. For more detailed information about Scouting and the activities we participate in, along with the badges Scouts work towards in each of our Groups can be found on www.scouts.org.uk.
Any parent interested in registering their child to join our growing Scout group are invited to email their name, contact details along with the name and date of birth of your young person to email@example.com.
The 1st Egham (United Church of Egham) Scout Group is wholly run by volunteers, who give their time to help provide a wide and exciting programme of activities for the young people of Egham. Without volunteers the Group would cease to exist, and so, if you’d be interested in volunteering, from a couple of hours a week to a couple of hours each month, please do get in touch with us! We will provide all required training and support, and you’ll be joining a community of enthusiastic people keen to promote Scouting and develop the next generation. If you’re interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be sure to get in touch with you.
